H1260-P001 - Dual Diagnosis Good Practice Handbook
Following the Department of Health’s Dual Diagnosis Good Practice Guide (2002), Turning Point has produced the Dual Diagnosis Good Practice Handbook. This brings together practical lessons gathered from talking candidly to professionals and service users about the successes and challenges in dual diagnosis services.
If you are involved in the development and delivery of services for people who have co-existing mental health and substance use problems, the handbook will be an essential tool, filled with case studies showing how leading services have implemented good practice.
The handbook offers:
- Snapshots and case studies illustrating good practice in services and projects working with dual diagnosis in a range of settings and locations (see box opposite)
- Practical advice for anyone seeking to develop dual diagnosis services
- An overview of components of good practice, drawn from policy documents and the experiences of professionals and service users.
Case studies/snapshots include:
- County Durham and Darlington Multi-Agency Dual Diagnosis Project
- Dual diagnosis course, York University
